The Prodigy is a good thing in that it puts needed pressure on the market. Staccato Ps don't need to cost $2.5k, but it's foolish to expect a pistol thats $1k cheaper to be "just as good". No free lunch and Staccato is still the baseline for a double stack that honest to goodness works from the start.

Prodigy is a lot smoother and softer shooting. The C2 and CS are aluminum lightweight guns. (I haven't tried any other Staccato so I can't comment on the other models) In my opinion, for an apples to apples comparison, you'd have to run at least a Staccato P (Steel Frame option) against a Prodigy.
