Detailed Description. New Idea Corn Picker #10, one row, used this season, 540 PTO, 16" husking bed. A hammer is used to insert each brush into the bracket, and a punch is used to remove them. According to Stoltzfus, the brushes work much better than the factory one-piece rubber finger wheels found on New Idea corn pickers.But finding machines in good condition can be a problem. New Idea, the biggest manufacturer of ear corn pickers, stopped building units in the late 1970's. No manufacturer makes a new corn picker and most used pickers are set up for 40-in. rows.
