I installed my own CFW and use shops since by the time new updates are done installing in tinfoil, they still aren't even on the websites, and it is faster to just install on switch than wait for links, wait for download, wait for copy to usb, then wait for install.

You can add games directly on device over Wi-Fi. There is currently a shop called Libera for that but nobody knows how long till it get taken down like many other shops that preceed Libera. It's easy enough to locate files, it's more of a pain to keep track of what game updated or had some DLC release without actively seeking out the info.
