Nov 11, 2011 · Hi there!!! I'm one of those people who know about the hidden merchant chest in Dawnstar. Once you empty it for the first time, it won't get new stuff until you look at the inventory of the Khajit merchant who shows up just outside of Dawnstar every so often. That being said, here's my question: How often does that khajit merchant show up there?
You are actually just clearing the merchant inventory from the Khajiit caravan that travels between Dawnstar and Riften. You would find their inventory empty, if you wish to trade with them. Merchants will reset after 2 days, but not if you are hanging around. To reset this chest you will have to leave the area for 2 days.Cooking in a static caravan can be a challenge, but with the right equipment, it doesn’t have to be. You have to wait 3-4 days, then talk to the khajiit vendors that are at the entrance of town. An easy way to keep them there is to start a conversation, wuickly back out of the coversation and wait the days. Outside whiterun, the tents will set up, but the khajit don't always show up. I've found entering whiterun, using 'wait' for an hour, then exiting whiterun will make them show up. I have also observed them simply walking right past normal camping spots and the tents not appearing at all.

There is one Khajiit Caravan which has the run from Dawnstar to Riften. I want to locate them, but not sure if they are stationary at any time, or do they actually travel the path all the time. If anyone knows the most likely place to find them, please share. It is mainly this particular Caravan I want to find. There are several others, I know. This one in particular belongs to Ahkari, the Khajiit caravan merchant that travels between Riften and Dawnstar. Her Merchant Chest is infamously poorly hidden and can be accessed, thus effectively stealing her wares without technically stealing it. The Unofficial Patch adjusts the chest’s location to be properly hidden.
