A way to fix it would be to be able to freely change a polarity between the configurations A, B and C and to keep the actual system that would be available once a forma have been used on the warframe/weapon. So, an idea: when you re-polarise a slot (say change D to a V) you get the option to invest 2 forma (instead of 1) to create a dual polarity that works with both old and new (so D and V mods are reduced, - or = would still increase).
