So perhaps the weight savings. And I think the CDP has the Kimber melt/carry treatment on the slide/frame to take off the sharp edges. The CDP's are good lookin pistols! If you are not unconscious, then you have quit. Both have aluminum frames. The CDP II has night sights, carry melt, and a checked frontstrap.
