If you build an iron farm in the nether, and make sure there is no quartz ore or nether brick, or any player-placed blocks above it (a good way to do this would be to dig up/blow up the netherrack all the way up to the ceiling), then as far as the game is concerned, it could just as well be empty sky up above.I built a simple iron farm in my world and it was working pretty well, getting around a stack in 15 minutes. So, I decided to build a mob farm close to it (around 3 chunks separating them) so that I could AFK in both at once. Both farms worked well for around an hour, until the iron golems stopped spawning. The mob farm is still functional though.

So my temp solution to get it to work again -> place blocks infront of the zombie, let them sleep, remove blocks. Many people have issues with it. Also keep in mind, if you kill the golem, the villagers remember that for some time and dont spawn a new one. I don't know enough about Iron Golem spawning to give a full answer but I did get (half of) Doc's farm working in survival (with three villagers and the zombie in a cauldron. Note that if you're setting time to day then quickly to night, you'll have skipped their work time (2000 to 9000). They might all have to be panicked at once, perhaps.

You have to find a way to make the iron golems spawn in the farm and not outside of it. ... 66 blocks is the minimum separation (65 will sometimes work, but not always), so 70 is already "playing it safe" and 80 blocks is just overkill. But yes, that should work.
