Hyundai sonata 2011 wont start.
My 2011 Hyundai Sonata won't start, was making a whining sound, now just clicks when pressing the start button. All accessories have power still. Have smelled a burning plastic smell under hood after attempting to start. Attempted to press start button once and then followed by 10-15 seconds w/o pressing brake. No luck.
The fix for this is installing an E clip on the end of the shifter pin. From the looks of it, it seems as though the E clip was supposed to be there in the first place but was overlooked during assembly. That resulted in over 800,000 Sonatas being recalled.
