Looking to haul in a 3/4 ton pickup.To accurately date the engine, look for a lightly hand stamped sn on the left rear of the engine, just under the head.. it will be on a flattened boss. 8n sn's start with 8n.. 9n and 2n sn's start with 9n.. And yes.. a 9n/2n engine will fit on an 8n and an 8n engine will fit on a 9n/2n no problem.
