I did this on purpose, using the dreg fleets of the 3 empires I'd vassalized and integrated. The destroyers took the brunt of the dragons fury. But because it spawned while colonizing, it just destroyed the starport (which is now at full health again) and a mining station, and is now just hovering above my colony.
