It's probably the spring loaded gear selector fork under the shifter assy behind the rear head. it's VERY easy for one side of that spring mechanism to fall off when assembling. this way you don't get a full throw when putting it in gear with the hand shifter. The 360's are notorious for having drivability problems due to the valves going tight. It would act as if not getting fuel like a vapor lock. AFter a while it would start back up. I had been told once by a ute racer that the check valve/tank breather that comes out of the tank and is in line on the right side rear would do that. I by passed it with an in-line filter and had no problems.
