Honda accord whining noise when starting.
1 post · Joined 2014. #1 · Sep 17, 2014. Ok! So I have a 2006 Honda Accord and recently the car won't turn over, all the lights turn on consistently but the car won't turn over. We replaced the battery and that didn't work, I don't want to have to go all over to replace the starter or fuses if I don't have to- but I think it might be immobilizer.
Noise sounds like a whining or belt type noise. Sounds sort of like an old turbocharger noise. I DO have that “rattle “ when I start the car and I understand that that problem is likely the VCT Actuator,,,, but will this also cause the whining noise too? ... My best guess would be one of two things. Either your ground (-) for the amp is poor or you have your RCA cables running alongside or too close to the power wires for the amp, which could transmit noise like that if they are poorly shielded cables. For a start I would put the driver on the alternator & any moving parts but be careful not to danger your hands or LIFE.
If there is still noise after the fluid is replaced then most likely you have a bad pump. I replaced the one on my TSX with a Cardone select and all the noise is gone and it was just under $100.
