Gmc sierra radio display not working.

Radio display works but not the other lights. I have a Delphi OEM radio in a 2005 GMC Sierra. They are used in a number of vehicles. I had a few bulbs out on the radio buttons, and went to install/solder in some new ones. Unfortunately, I got a short when I was putting the radio back in the truck. Came back, turned it off, tried to restart. It cranked, fired, ran for about 3 seconds then back to no crank/no start. Tried to disconnect the BCM again and pulled the fuse for 20 minutes but no luck. Battery was still good, and I was able to run the starter by jumping the starter relay, but no starting.

Seems as others have had the same problem. One solution offered up that was said to work was to unhook the negative cable from the battery and give it a couple of minutes and then hook it back up again. Source said that fixed his radio issue.
