Best horse archer: Both khuzait and aserai horse archers are good but the best horse archers are the khuzait khans guard which are noble units. Best infantry: aserai have decent shock infantry with the palace guard but from my experience most people go with imperial legionaries as their front line due to their strong armour and shield.

Fian champions are the best unit in the game. They’re basically the best archer and shock unit in one. But for wars I keep it simple, I’ll have half my army infantry in the middle in a shield wall (asarai veterans, legionnaire, or sturgian spear/axemen) then 1/4 noble heavy cav a good distance away on the left, then 1/4 khans guards same distance away on the right.
